Onyx by wickedorin Onyx by wickedorin
I'm calling her my birthday present to myself this year: Onyx the crocheted chocobo. The better part of two days went into creating her, with touch-ups done on the third.

I love her. I absolutely adore her. She was certainly a "learning experience", as I did her entirely on the fly with no pattern, no direction, no anything but a totally insane thought and a crochet hook. ...And yarn. ...And later wire and glass beads, but you get the idea.

She is, in fact, very poseable! Her wings move and stay in place, she can tilt her head, look around, and even bend down without falling. Her legs are sturdy but capable of being posed as well (they have a decent range of movement whee they connect to her body).

Will I make more in the future? I want to! ...I'm just going to... wait until I can feel my fingers again.

Yay, thank you! I'm just so very, very happy to have her around. She seems happy over the TV.
